Job summary

Solas IT Recruitment is helping a well-established Irish technology company in Kildare hire a C++ Software Engineer (Mid-Level / Senior). The role is hybrid in Kildare, permanent, with 5+ years of commercial C++ experience and a strong background in Python, Linux, and ML.

You will work on AI-driven software that interfaces with embedded/edge hardware. Responsibilities include designing production-grade software, developing ML solutions, and collaborating across software, embedded, electronics

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial development experience with C++.
• Strong background in Python.
• Experience developing software within Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures and software engineering principles.
• Exposure to Machine Learning / Deep Learning.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar frameworks is beneficial.
• Experience developing reliable, production-quality software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production-quality software using C++ and Python.
• Develop and optimise Machine Learning / Deep Learning solutions for detection, classification and measurement applications.
• Integrate software with embedded and edge-based hardware.
• Take technical solutions from R&D and prototyping through to production.
• Optimise software and algorithms for performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Work closely with software, embedded, electronics and optics engineering teams.
• Test and evaluate solutions using real-world datasets.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical design and code reviews.
• Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
