Job summary

&Open's Buying and Merchandising team is growing. We are seeking a Buying Assistant to join the team with responsibilities including supplier relations, pricing checks and new product research. A passion for sustainability and a minimum of 1–2 years' experience are essential.

You will liaise with suppliers, raise purchase orders, source products globally, and help maintain inventory levels while supporting the group's KPIs and margins. Hybrid work from Dublin.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365.
• Commercial trading/retail experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and judgement in decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with suppliers and negotiate pricing terms.
• Work with existing suppliers to confirm pricing, quality, delivery and cost objectives.
• Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective suppliers.
• Raise purchase orders in line with KPIs and track payment terms and delivery details.
• Source products globally and negotiate deadlines to ensure inventory flow.
• Share quotations, pricing and deliveries with Group Buyer and cross-communicate.
• Support and communicate gift experiences between designers and logistics teams.
• Continuously refine the gifting programme to improve sustainability and efficiency.

Buying Assistant

We're seeking a Buying Assistant to join our buying team. Primary responsibilities will include supplier relations and new product research. We are passionate about minimising our carbon footprint and searching for someone who's equally aligned when it comes to sustainability. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience with great decision‑making skills and a keen eye for detail.

• Liaise and negotiate.
• Work with existing suppliers to confirm pricing and ensure client‑determined quality, delivery and cost objectives are met.
• Relationship‑build. Nurturing existing vendors/suppliers as well as prospective suppliers.
• Purchase Orders. Raise purchase orders, in line with KPIs (e.g. margin targets), whilst keeping a close record of payment terms and delivery details.
• Source. Proactively and continuously source product globally. Negotiate deadlines to ensure consistent flow of inventory and maximise sales.
• Support. Sharing quotations pricing and deliveries with Group Buyer, Cross‑communicate.
• Guarantee &Open's gift experience strikes a balance of form and function by frequently communicating with gift designers and our logistics team.
• Refine. Work to build a better gifting programme, day by day. Frequently find ways to improve sustainability efforts or increase efficiency within current processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft 365®
• Proven commercial trading / retail experience in a fast‑paced, reactive environment
• Sound judgment and decision‑making skills
• Professional demeanour with strong communication skills
• Attention to detail (on internal and external assignments)
• Proactive attitude, showing initiative to constantly improve &Open's offerings
• Innovative thinking and strong problem‑solving skills
