Building Services Engineer
Location: Dublin
Contract: Full time/ Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Reporting to: Property Services Manager
Job Summary
The Building Services Engineer will oversee all aspects of building services to provide a responsive, quality and efficient service to residents. The role involves agile working with access to the Dublin office. A valid driving licence and the use of a car for business purposes are required.
Core Duties
Mechanical & Electrical
- Provide technical guidance and specification on heating systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, drainage systems and other M&E services as required.
- Assist with diagnosing faults and recommend suitable repairs on M&E systems.
- Manage M&E works programmes and costs.
Management of Planned, Cyclical and Reactive Servicing & Maintenance
- Undertake pre & post inspections of repair, service and maintenance work and produce detailed and accurate reports.
- Manage service contracts of M&E repairs and upgrades.
- Assist with the management of planned and cyclical maintenance programmes using a Building Asset Database.
General
- Collaborate with internal teams on property, compliance and regulatory matters.
- Liaise with OMCs, Local Authorities, Residents and other stakeholders.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience
- 3rd level qualification (Level 6 NFQ or above) in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field; OR Plumbing/Electrical trade with 5 years minimum post qualification experience.
- Full clean Driving License.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing.
- Experience in diagnosing and managing repairs to domestic buildings.
- Familiar with Technical Guidance Documents, building compliance and Irish Standards.
- Sound knowledge of contract management and working to procurement regulations.
