Job summary

PE Global are recruiting a Building Services Engineer for a leading Tier 1 construction contractor in Dublin. The role involves coordinating mechanical and electrical building services across project lifecycles, from design through handover on high-profile developments in Dublin and the Leinster region.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ to 8+ years' experience in building services engineering within construction or contracting.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems.
  • Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and construction standards.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate mechanical and electrical building services on construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Review M&E designs, specifications, drawings, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with consultants, design teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve technical issues.
  • Monitor installation progress, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Chair and attend M&E coordination meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary project meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations, health and safety legislation, and relevant industry standards.
  • Review subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, technical submittals, and commissioning documentation.
  • Oversee commissioning activities and ensure systems are fully tested, validated, and handed over successfully.
  • Assist with project planning, procurement, sequencing, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
  • Support the preparation of project reports and maintain accurate technical records.
  • Promote best practice in sustainability, energy efficiency, and quality throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure all documentation required for project completion and client handover is compiled and issued.

PE Global are working with a leading Tier 1 Construction organisation in Dublin to recruit Building Services Engineers to join the team. This is a full time, permanent opportunity.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Building Services Engineer to join a leading construction contractor delivering high-profile commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial, and mixed-use developments across Dublin and the greater Leinster region.

Reporting to the Building Services Manager or Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the design, installation, commissioning, and handover of all mechanical and electrical (M&E) building services throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, technically challenging projects within a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Candidate Profile
