Job summary

Grand Hotel Malahide is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Full-Time Breakfast Chef Assistant to join our Kitchen team. Under the management of FBD Hotels & Resorts, you will assist with the preparation and presentation of breakfast items and ensure the buffet is replenished to a high standard during the morning service.

The role requires fast-paced efficiency, strong hygiene standards, and the ability to work early morning shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar kitchen or breakfast service role.
• Previous experience working with a breakfast buffet is highly desirable.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, hygiene and food safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out, to the best of your ability, all reasonable duties requested by the Head Chef or Senior Kitchen Staff.
• Assist the Chef with breakfast preparation and food production.
• Prepare and replenish items for the breakfast buffet.
• Meet and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner during breakfast service.
• Ensure hot food plates are pre-heated and service-ready.
• Maintain the breakfast buffet area in a clean, tidy, and well-presented condition at all times.
• Monitor food levels and ensure timely replenishment.
• Follow all HACCP and food safety procedures.
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and professional appearance at all times.
• Assist with cleaning duties, including kitchen equipment and food preparation areas.
• Ensure proper storage of food items in line with health and safety regulations.
• Support the team in maintaining high service standards and guest satisfaction.
