Job summary

Talbot Hotel Stillorgan is recruiting a Bar Supervisor to lead the bar team and ensure exceptional guest service. You will greet and seat customers, monitor service standards, and oversee accurate order taking and till entries to maintain a smooth operation.

The role requires a friendly, professional attitude, fluent English, weekend flexibility, and excellent interpersonal skills. Previous supervisory experience in hospitality is advantageous, and staff training will be a key focus.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and seating of customers.
  • Ensure staff have knowledge of menus, beverages, and service standards; identify training needs.
  • Take and service orders accurately; communicate to kitchen and bar promptly.
  • Monitor staff on duty to ensure duties are carried out per procedures.
  • Provide high standard of service and attention to detail within the department.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and queries and deliver exceptional service.
  • Know menu details to answer guest questions.

Overall Job Purpose

To provide a friendly and efficient service within the food and beverage areas. To deliver exceptional friendly service at all times, to every guest, in line with the Talbot Collection 'Empower Your Excellence' customer service program. Role Specific Duties:
  • Greeting and seating of customers.
  • To ensure all staff have sufficient knowledge of menus, beverages, and service standards and to identify any training needs in relation to these areas.
  • Ensure all orders are taken accurately and serviced efficiently.
  • To control and monitor all staff on duty ensuring all duties are being fully carried out in accordance with Company Procedures.
  • To ensure a high standard of service and attention to detail within the hotel/your department.
  • Ensure that all guests' requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively and an exceptional service is always delivered to guests.
  • Be familiar with the menu and as much information about the food and beverage offering available to answer any questions guests may have.
  • Take food and beverage orders and ensure that orders are communicated to the kitchen and bar promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure that all food and beverage orders are imputed in the tills and are being charged correctly.
  • To ensure there are no open checks at the end of the shift.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Friendly and professional work attitude;
  • Fluent English essential - written and spoken;
  • Must be available to work variable shifts;
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage.

The role involves weekend work, so flexibility is required.
