Job summary

Modern Tyres in Clonmel is looking for a Branch Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and drive financial performance at the branch. You will supervise staff, manage stock, and ensure high quality service while controlling costs.

The role requires motor industry knowledge and a mechanical background, with a focus on recruitment, staff development, and customer relations. Training with IMI certification and a company vehicle are provided.

Responsibilities

• Operational management: planning, organising, staffing, directing and controlling of all branch staff.
• Maximise branch potential by ensuring all branch and financial targets are met.
• Ensure staff adhere to correct procedures in relation to tasks and stock management.
• Maintain all costs within targeted figures and look for opportunities to reduce.
• Ensure all stock is maintained and regularly audited.
• Identify recruitment needs within budget and process with HR support.
• Conduct annual employee appraisals and provide regular feedback.
• Coach and motivate branch staff to meet business demand and targets.
• Develop positive working relationships and escalate issues when needed.
• Promote services to existing and potential customers and grow branch business.
• Provide weekly sales reporting to area manager.
• Maintain branch housekeeping and ensure adherence to quality guidelines.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and promote safety in the branch.

Job Purpose

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall management of the branch and the achievement of all financial targets within his/her branch.

Key Tasks Required

• Operational Management
  • Planning, organising, staffing, directing and controlling of all branch staff

  • Ensure that all branch staff fully adhere to correct procedures in relation tasks and stock management

  • Regularly review all costs and look for opportunities to reduce
  • Ensure all stock is maintained and regularly audited
• Staff Management
  • Identify recruitment needs within budget and process with support from Human Resources Department
  • Conduct annual employee appraisals for all branch staff and provide regular feedback to all staff on their performance
  • Coach and motivate branch staff to ensure they meet business demand and targets set
  • Develop and encourage positive working relationships within the branch and where issues arise resolve them, or if unable, elevate to their Regional Manager
• Business Development
  • Promote at every opportunity to existing and potential customers the range of services that we provide
  • Develop relationships with existing and potential customers to retain and grow branch business
  • Bring forward ideas/suggestions for new products or services that could generate additional revenue
  • Responsible for entire branch performance reporting weekly sales to area manager
• Quality Management
  • Responsible of the housekeeping of the branch
  • Ensure good work practices are being followed in the branch, and all technical guidelines are being adhered to - following the policy of getting it right first time.
• Health and Safety Management
  • Ensure full compliance by all floor staff with health and safety/environmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure full compliance by all floor staff with safety/environmental legislation.
  • Promote and be a role model for safety in the Branch
  • Report all breaches of safety policies/procedures and legislation to the Branch Manager
