Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active Bar admission in at least one state.
• 2+ years of professional experience in claims or litigation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience handling litigation and working with outside counsel.
• Knowledge of contracts, including risk transfer provisions.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with multitasking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• A collaborative mindset with strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of casualty claims under supervision.
• Conduct and coordinate investigations across all phases of claims.
• Evaluate liability and exposure to develop resolution strategies.
• Analyze policy coverage and draft clear coverage correspondence.
• Communicate claim decisions with policyholders and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation in claim files.
• Oversee litigated claims by appointing and managing defense counsel.
• Drive litigation strategy and move cases toward resolution.
• Participate in mediations, settlements, and trials as needed.
