Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group is partnering with a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturer in Sligo to hire an experienced Operations Manager. The role reports to the Site Director and leads manufacturing operations, ensuring GMP compliance and driving continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will mentor the team, drive efficiency, and collaborate with Quality, Engineering and cross-functional departments to support site expansion and capital projects.

Competenze

• 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing/operations, ideally within a biopharmaceutical environment.
• 5+ years’ experience in a management or senior leadership role.
• Strong experience with GMP-compliant manufacturing operations and audits.

We are partnering with a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing client in Sligo to support them with hiring an experienced Operations Manager.

Reporting to the Site Director, this is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations, ensuring GMP and regulatory compliance while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement and team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, compliance and delivery targets are achieved.
• Lead, mentor and develop a growing manufacturing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure manufacturing activities meet GMP, regulatory, EHS and company standards.
• Drive operational efficiency, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve yield, quality and efficiency.
• Support audits, inspections and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Technical and other cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to workforce planning, resource allocation and site expansion activities.
• Support operational readiness for capital projects, technology transfers and commercial manufacturing.

Requirements

• Degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing/operations, ideally within a biopharmaceutical environment.
• 5+ years’ experience in a management or senior leadership role.
• Strong experience managing GMP-compliant manufacturing operations.
• Proven experience leading and developing manufacturing teams.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and operational excellence.
• Experience with regulatory, client and third-party audits/inspections.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
