Job summary

UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin seeks a Biomechanics Research Assistant to support clinical service and research in biomechanics and motion analysis. This full-time role is within the Sports Medicine department.

Responsibilities include data collection, processing, lab quality control, equipment checks, and research collaboration. Prior biomechanics data capture experience and MATLAB/Python knowledge are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sports science or related field with prior biomechanical data capture experience
• Ability to work well in a team with high attention to detail
• Research experience and understanding of research principles
• Analytic and decisive thinking with ability to prioritise, adapt and manage time
• Strong organisational, interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills
• Knowledge of universal precautions and safety guidelines
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Experience with data processing/analysis in MATLAB and/or Python desirable

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee data collection with documentation and organization of data
• Process biomechanical data in preparation for analysis
• Ensure high quality of care for every patient tested in the lab
• Conduct regular system checks on laboratory equipment
• Assist with basic research tasks and collaborate on projects
• Assist with training Erasmus students
• Review procedures to identify service improvements
