Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Technical Shift Leader to guide a biologics fill‑finish team in a 12‑hour shift rotation. You will lead, develop and mentor team members both technically and professionally, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and high-quality output.

The role emphasizes operations excellence, cross‑functional collaboration, and proactive problem solving to maintain safety, quality and efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in batch processing, automation, commissioning or validation.
• At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field is required; advanced degree preferred.
• Detailed knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements is essential.
• Understanding of contamination control and aseptic processing.

Responsibilities

• Act as team’s key contact and technical expert.
• Lead and support manufacturing activities: compounding, filling, lyophilization, formulation, and processing.
• Coach and mentor team to maximize effectiveness through clear communication.
• Promote aseptic contamination control and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate departmental goals to deliver cost‑effective, quality products safely.
• Collaborate with program management, supply chain, QA and engineering on planning and execution.
• Resolve operations issues with team, customers and others as appropriate.
• Drive operations excellence and OEE targets where applicable.
• Interface with QA for HPRA/FDA regulatory interactions and audits.
