Job summary

Arup is seeking students pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BIM & Information Management to assist across disciplines in creating 3D models and 2D drawings. You will help process model/drawing information and ensure design fits together across disciplines, while addressing coordination challenges.

Strong English communications and attention to detail are required, with opportunities to engage in submissions and QA/QC practices during a collaborative graduate program.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BIM & Information Management.
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D and Navisworks would be an advantage.
  • Programming skills in Python, Dynamo or Rhino Inside Revit would be an advantage.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models and 2D drawing documentation of buildings and civil structures.
  • Assist with handling all incoming and outgoing model and drawing information.
  • Ensure an overall design fits across disciplines and meets each discipline’s requirements.
  • Troubleshoot problems in a rapid digital coordination environment.
  • Develop concepts into accurate models/drawings through direct communications.
  • Assist with submissions and QA/QC protocols.

The Opportunity

As part of this role you will assist or team in:

  • Creating 3D models and 2D drawing documentation of buildings and civil structures
  • Assist with handling all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information
  • Opportunity to work across disciplines to ensure an overall design fits together and satisfieseach discipline’s individual requirements
  • Troubleshoot problems that arise in a rapidly changing digital coordination environment
  • Develop engineer’s concepts and sketches into accurate models and drawings, through direct communications
  • Help with submissions and ensure proper QA/QC protocols are implemented

We're looking for students who are currently pursuing aDiploma/Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or BIM & Information Management

We also value:
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D and Navisworks would be an advantage
  • Programming skills using Python, Dynamo or Rhino - Inside - Revit would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of information management to BS/PAS1192 and ISO19650-1/2 would be an advantage
  • Candidate must be detail and accuracy oriented
  • Good command in both written and spoken English
