Job summary

Griffdon Engineering is seeking a Senior BIM Coordinator to own BIM delivery across Europe, coordinating across design teams, clients and consultants.

You will lead BIM activities, implement standards and BEPs, and drive continuous improvement in digital project delivery on major European data centre and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a BIM Coordinator, Senior BIM Coordinator or BIM Engineer role.
• Proven experience coordinating MEP services on large construction or engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of BIM processes, model coordination and project workflows.
• Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards.
• Electrical engineering or building services background.
• Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.

Griffdon Engineering is a leading electrical engineering and utilities contractor delivering complex projects across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. As our European project portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior BIM Coordinator to take ownership of BIM delivery across the business and support the successful execution of major projects throughout Europe.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding contractor and play a key role in developing Griffdon's BIM capability for the future.

The Role

The Senior BIM Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating BIM activities across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements and supporting project teams throughout the design, construction and handover phases.

The successful candidate will act as Griffdon's BIM lead, working closely with project managers, engineers, designers, consultants and clients to ensure the effective delivery of BIM requirements while helping establish company standards, procedures and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead BIM coordination across multiple live projects.
• Manage and coordinate external BIM consultants and design teams.
• Develop, implement and maintain BIM standards, procedures and workflows.
• Prepare and manage BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary models and drawings.
• Conduct model reviews, clash detection and design coordination exercises.
• Support project teams with BIM deliverables and technical BIM queries.
• Ensure compliance with client BIM requirements, project specifications and industry standards.
• Attend and lead BIM coordination meetings with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Maintain BIM libraries, templates and project documentation.
• Support project handover requirements, including as-built models and digital deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement in BIM processes and digital project delivery.
• Provide support and guidance to internal project teams on BIM best practices.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a BIM Coordinator, Senior BIM Coordinator or BIM Engineer role.
• Strong experience using:
• Autodesk Revit
• Navisworks
• AutoCAD
• Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / BIM 360
• Experience coordinating MEP services on large construction or engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of BIM processes, model coordination and project workflows.
• Experience managing BIM deliverables and design information across project teams.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within project deadlines.
• Experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceuticals, industrial or large-scale commercial projects.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards.
• Electrical engineering or building services background.
• Experience developing BIM standards and procedures.
• Familiarity with Dynamo, Power BI or other digital construction tools.
• Relevant degree, diploma or qualification in Engineering, BIM, Building Services, Construction or a related discipline.
