Job summary

BMD & Co Ltd in Dublin is seeking a BIM Co-Ordinator to support the BIM team in developing, coordinating, and maintaining BIM models and project documentation. You will assist with 3D models, construction drawings, and digital deliverables while ensuring compliance with BIM standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in BIM/CAD, strong software skills, and a proactive approach to improving modelling efficiency within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level BIM/engineering education or similar.
• 2+ years in BIM, CAD, or engineering environment.
• Experience with building services projects is advantageous.
• Proficiency in BIM tools and related software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update 3D BIM models from mark-ups and design information.
• Produce 2D drawings, layouts, sections, elevations, and detailed construction drawings from BIM models.
• Assist in modelling piping, supports, equipment, ductwork, and building services.
• Maintain model accuracy and update information per company standards.
• Generate drawing packages and deliverables for BIM Engineers and Leads.
• Perform model checks for consistency and project compliance.
• Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection exercises.
• Follow document management and revision control procedures.
• Maintain organised BIM documentation and project files.
• Prepare reports, schedules, and model progress updates.
• Incorporate site survey and point cloud data into models.
• Liaise with project team to ensure timely BIM outputs.
• Support construction teams with model information and drawings.
• Resolve model-related issues identified during reviews.

The Role - BIM Co-Ordinator

Reporting to the BIM Lead, the role of the BIM Co-Ordinator is to support the BIM team in the development, coordination, and maintenance of BIM models and project documentation. The BIM Co-Ordinator will assist with the production of 3D models, construction drawings, and digital project deliverables while ensuring compliance with company BIM standards and client requirements. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical and BIM skills within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update 3D BIM models from engineering mark-ups, sketches, and design information.
• Produce 2D drawings, layouts, sections, elevations, and detailed construction drawings from BIM models.
• Assist in the modelling of piping, supports, equipment, ductwork, and other building services as required.
• Maintain model accuracy and ensure project information is updated in accordance with company standards.
• Generate drawing packages and project deliverables for review by BIM Engineers and BIM Leads.

Person Specification

Education, Training & Experience

Qualification in BIM Technology, Engineering Technology, Building Services, CAD Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

2+ years relevant experience in a BIM, CAD, or engineering environment.

Previous experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or building services projects would be advantageous.

Experience applying some or all of the following software technologies is preferable:

• Autodesk Revit
• AutoCAD 2D
• Navisworks
• Plant3D
• BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Bluebeam Revu
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Cadworx (training can be provided)
