Job summary

PrepayPower, based in Sandyford, Dublin 18, is seeking a target-driven Billing Specialist to ensure accurate, timely invoicing and to help streamline tariffs across gas, electricity, broadband and oil products within the Revenue Protection team.

The role focuses on advanced Excel-based billing, developing procedures, and delivering regular reports to the Senior Billing Specialist, with opportunities for career progression in a fast-growing energy company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Level 8) or 1 year of similar experience.
• Strong Excel skills with pivot tables and lookup functions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all billing activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare customer invoices and manage tariffs on charging systems.
• Manage billing communications and resolve queries with other departments.
• Carry out analyses and reconciliations to confirm process accuracy.
• Develop reports to track billing process performance and automation opportunities.
• Provide regular activity reports to the Senior Billing Specialist/Team Lead.

As a member of the Revenue Assurance team, the primary responsibility of the Billing Specialist is to ensure complete, timely and accurate billing of customers.

Salary: 36k OTE

We are looking for a target-driven Billing Specialist to work with the growing Revenue Protection team across the PrepayPower/Yuno billing team. This role requires an individual who has the ability to work on their own initiative and develop procedures and processes as the business continues to grow.

The ideal candidate will be highly target-driven with strong experience working with Microsoft excel preferably in a utilities billing role. The role will involve a high level of excel based billing work and the successful candidate will be required to improve and streamline the existing billing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring all billing activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Calculation and preparation of customer invoices
• Setup and management of tariffs on the charging systems
• Management of the Billing communications process .
• Investigating and resolving exceptional billing queries from customers and other departments internally.
• Carryout analysis and reconciliations to confirm accuracy of processes.
• Liaising with other departments and 3rd parties, to identify and resolve billing issues. Assessing impacts and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and implement new reports to track process performance.
• Calculation and management of customer refunds.
• Liaising with IT and Development departments re billing process improvement.
• Providing an insight of existing processes and potential scope for automation.
• Providing regular reports to the Snr Billing Specialist/Team Lead on all billing activity on a weekly & monthly basis.
• Become a subject matter expert in Gas, Electricity, Broadband and Oil products in order to identify potential gaps in the revenue streams.
• Carryout adhoc activities as needed.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Proven ability to work to strict targets to achieve individual and team objectives.
• Hold a minimum qualification of a bachelor's degree (Level 8) or minimum 1 years’ experience is a similar role.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proven ability to work in a self-directed and organised manner.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience of working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system would be beneficial.
• Previous utilities experience is preferred with energy supplier experience would be a distinct advantage.
