Job summary

Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort is currently recruiting for an experienced Bartender to join the Team. The hotel is a four-star property set on 130 acres of parkland and dates back to 833 A.D., offering a historic setting for weddings and events. You will work across bar duties, upholding service standards and promoting menu items.

Roles include mornings/evenings, weekends, and public holidays with Meals on duty and other employee benefits. Previous F&B experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
Flexibility in working hours as role includes mornings/evenings & weekends, public holidays.
Previous experience working in a Food & Beverage environment i.e. hotel, restaurant, bar.

Responsibilities

To serve bar guests their orders promptly and courteously.
To serve beverages at weddings and other evening functions.
To accurately record guest orders and serve beverage orders.
To ensure proper garnishing of drinks.
To processes guest checks accurately.
To maintain a clean and stocked work area with mise-en-place.
Have thorough knowledge of bar menu and promote sales.
Liaise with Bar Manager on set-ups and reservations.
Adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol policy.
Comply with alcohol and liquor policies and regulations.

The Ballymascanlon Hotel is a four-star property set on 130 acres of beautiful parkland, this impressive Victorian House forms the heart of this Hotel. It is one of the most remarkable historical estates in Ireland dating back to 833 A.D.

Main duties and responsibilities:

To serve bar guests their orders promptly and courteously
To serve beverages at the weddings at other evening functions
To accurately record guest orders and serves beverage orders
To ensure proper garnishing of drinks
To processes guest checks accurately
To ensure that the working area and station is stocked with “mise-en-place” and kept clean and tidy at all times
To maintain a thorough working knowledge of the bar menu, wine and beer list, and content of drinks to be able to advise guests on selection and promote additional sales accordingly
To promote additional sales by taking opportunities to up-sell in a manner that is professional and courteous
To liaise with the Bar Manager concerning set-ups and reservations
To adhere to the Responsible Service of Alcohol policy
Has full knowledge of alcohol and liquor policies and regulations, and complies fully with them
