Job summary

Rabelo Cafe Bar & Venue at Carlingford Marina on the water is seeking an Experienced Bartender to join our team. You will craft beverages—from premium coffees to wines and classic spirits—while delivering friendly, confident service during busy periods.

The position is permanent part-time with an excellent tips package and staff food provided. Evening and weekend availability is essential, and at least 2 years of independent bartending experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of independent bartending experience in a busy bar, restaurant, or hotel environment.
• Excellent communication, a sharp eye for presentation, and the ability to work quickly and cleanly under pressure.
• Evening and weekend availability is essential. Immediate start is essential.
• Age to serve alcohol must be legal.
• Reliable transport or local familiarity is preferred due to location.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a wide range of beverages to a high standard.
• Engaging with customers, taking orders, and providing recommendations.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar, restocking, clearing glassware, and maintaining beer lines/coffee machines.

About the Role

We are on the lookout for a skilled, charismatic, and efficient Bartender to join our team at Rabelo. Positioned right on the water at Carlingford Marina, our bar is a lively hub for locals and visitors alike.

We need a professional drink-maker who takes pride in consistency, loves engaging with customers, and can keep a cool head when the weekend rush hits.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a wide range of beverages—including premium coffees, draught beers, wines, and classic spirits—to a high standard.
• Engaging with customers warmly, taking orders, and providing recommendations.
• Maintaining strict cleanliness and organization behind the bar, including restocking, clearing glassware, and managing regular beer line/coffee machine maintenance.
• Handling transactions, cash management, and operating the POS system efficiently.
• Ensuring full compliance with all responsible service of alcohol regulations.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of independent bartending experience in a busy bar, restaurant, or hotel environment. You should be confident managing a bar section on your own.
• Skills: Excellent communication, a sharp eye for presentation, and the ability to work quickly and cleanly under pressure.
• Availability: Evening and weekend availability is essential. Immediate start is essential.
• Age Requirement: Because this role consists entirely of the sale, preparation and service of alcohol, applicants must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
• Transport: We are located in a stunning spot where the Lough meets the mountains, but it is a bit off the beaten track. You must have a reliable car or be a local to accommodate our variable night-time finish hours.
