Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an experienced Data Specialist to support delivery, enhancement and development of enterprise data and analytics solutions in Ireland. You will work with project teams, business units and technical teams to transform data, develop reporting and analytics, and support strategic data initiatives.

This role requires strong hands-on experience with Azure data ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, Synapse) plus SQL, data engineering, and data modelling capabilities.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years' experience in a Data Specialist/Data Engineering related role.
• At least 2 years in a lead capacity.
• Hands-on with Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse.
• Experience with Power BI or equivalent BI tools.
• Advanced SQL and database experience.
• Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Strong ETL/ELT, data pipelines and data warehouse design.
• Data modelling with complex datasets and governance awareness.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD processes.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
• Experience in Agile delivery teams and GDPR awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models.
• Build and support ETL/ELT processes across source systems.
• Develop solutions using Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Power BI.
• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends and insights.
• Create dashboards and analytics to support decision-making.
• Design complex data models and datasets for reporting needs.
• Use Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
• Support and optimise data solutions as they scale.
• Collaborate in an Agile delivery environment and with stakeholders.
• Apply data governance and GDPR best practices.
