Job summary

GCS is partnering with an innovative organisation investing heavily in Data & AI capabilities, seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support the development of a modern cloud-based data platform.

This role will design, build, and optimise scalable data solutions enabling advanced analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across the business.

Qualifications

• Extensive Data Engineer experience in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks.
• Strong SQL and data modelling expertise.
• Experience building Data Warehouse solutions.
• Experience in cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Ability to work independently and engage with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple sources
• Work closely with Data Science, Analytics, and business stakeholders

This role will play a key part in designing, building, and optimising scalable data solutions that enable advanced analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives across the business.

• Build and maintain Data Lake and Data Warehouse solutions
• Develop ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple sources
• Work closely with Data Science, Analytics, and business stakeholders

Required Experience

• Strong experience as a Data Engineer in enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, or similar technologies
• Strong SQL and data modelling expertise
• Experience building Data Warehouse solutions
• Experience working within cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Ability to work independently and engage with stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with IoT or high-volume data environments
• Exposure to Power BI
• Knowledge of Kimball Data Modelling
