Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists is seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Cloud Operations Engineer in Dublin for a 6‑month daily rate contract. You will support, maintain and improve a mixed on‑premises and cloud footprint with a focus on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and modern infrastructure operations.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, service desk and applications teams, ensuring critical systems remain secure, stable and highly available while following ITIL

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure engineering or cloud operations
• Strong Windows Server, AD, DNS and DHCP skills
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, Intune and Entra ID
• Hands-on Azure infrastructure and cloud services
• Understanding of virtualization (VMware), storage and backups
• Familiarity with ITIL incident, problem and change processes
• Desirable Azure certifications (AZ-104/AZ-800) and security tooling

Responsibilities

• Maintain, configure and support on-premises and cloud infrastructure across servers, storage, virtualization, networking and compute environments.
• Monitor system performance, capacity and availability; implement reliability improvements.
• Carry out patching, upgrades and configuration changes per change processes.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and escalate as needed.
• Support Azure resources, security controls and identity services.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services and monitor service health.
• Participate in incident, problem and change management and document runbooks.
