Job summary

Griffin Global Asset Management in Dublin, Ireland, seeks an Assistant Vice President, Technical, to expand the technical team in line with strategic plans. The AVP will report to the Head of Technical and oversee the technical provisions of aircraft and engine lease agreements within the growing portfolio.

The role requires 5-6 years in aircraft leasing or airline environments with a strong technical/maintenance background, and a comprehensive engineering or EASA Part 66 credential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform and manage Pre Purchase and Mid Term Inspections at Lessee’s facilities
• Draft technical elements of LOI’s and Aircraft Leases
• Calculate and set Maintenance Reserve and End of Lease rates
• Build new and maintain existing relationships with airline and OEM counterparties
• Provide support to the commercial and pricing teams with input on relevant technical datapoints
• Attend aircraft deliveries at the OEM’s and other MRO locations as well as redeliveries and be able to manage the various relationships to ensure smooth transitions
• Assist in producing presentations or reports for any technical project

Job description

Griffin Global Asset Management is looking to hire an Assistant Vice President, Technical, to help build out the technical team in line with the company’s strategic plans. The AVP role will report to the Head of Technical and is suitable for candidates with 5-6 years’ experience in the aircraft leasing industry.

The AVP Technical will play a key role in managing and monitoring of the technical provisions of aircraft and engine lease agreements in the company’s growing portfolio and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with the customer airlines. The individual will form an integral part of the technical team with key responsibilities.

The AVP will collaborate across functions, including with marketing, contracts, legal, pricing and trading, ensuring that the company’s technical objectives are met. Strong verbal and written communication skills and an eagerness to learn and to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be key competencies required for the successful candidate. The position requires strong technical knowledge, deal structuring skills, financial acumen, and the ability to negotiate and manage LOI’s and Leases from inception to closing.

The role will be located onsite in Dublin, Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications / Job Requirements:

• 5-6 years prior experience in aircraft leasing (preferable) or airline, with experience in a technical, maintenance or engineering management role.
• EASA Part 66 License or relevant engineering degree.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft excel and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills coupled with an eagerness to learn
• Track record of being self-motivated and the willingness to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Proven project management skills with an ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work on several different projects
• Flexibility and willingness to travel, if necessary
