Job summary

Eden Recruitment is partnering with a prominent public-sector organisation in Ireland to recruit an Automotive Approval Engineer. The role focuses on vehicle approval frameworks, ensuring EU/UNECE and national standards compliance across passenger, commercial and motorcycling segments.

Working with senior automotive engineers, you will assess applications, support national schemes, and liaise with manufacturers, technical services and test centres.

Qualifications

  • Honours bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related discipline.
  • At least two years’ relevant professional experience.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a specialist team.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating EU, UNECE and national product approval applications.
  • Recommending approvals based on technical and regulatory compliance.
  • Assessing manufacturers’ Conformity of Production requirements.
  • Supporting the development of national motor vehicle approval schemes.
  • Liaising with vehicle manufacturers, technical services, body builders, test centres and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluating applications from Approved Vehicle Body Builders.
  • Conducting workshop assessments relating to tachographs, vehicle plating and road-speed limiters.
  • Developing procedures and identifying improvements within the division.

Are you an engineer interested in vehicle technology, regulatory compliance and road safety?

Eden Recruitment is partnering with a prominent public-sector organisation to recruit an Automotive Approval Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to Ireland’s vehicle approval framework and help ensure that vehicles and automotive products meet rigorous national, EU and UNECE standards.

Working alongside senior automotive engineers, you will assess product approval applications, evaluate technical compliance and contribute to the development of national approval schemes covering:

  • Passenger vehicles
  • Commercial and goods vehicles
  • Motorcycles, three-wheel vehicles and quadricycles
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Evaluating EU, UNECE and national product approval applications
  • Recommending approvals based on technical and regulatory compliance
  • Assessing manufacturers’ Conformity of Production requirements
  • Supporting the development of national motor vehicle approval schemes

What you’ll bring:

Experience with EU or UNECE motor vehicle regulations, national vehicle requirements or the development of technical procedures would be particularly advantageous.
