Job summary

MSD Malaysia seeks an Automation Intern for our Carlow site to support digital systems and automation projects. You will join the Digital Manufacturing Operations team to gain hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing setting and contribute to digital transformation efforts.

You will assist in developing, testing, and maintaining automated systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and learning industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in automation or related fields.
• Basic knowledge of automation systems and related tools.
• Understanding of industrial control electrical fundamentals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations at the Carlow manufacturing site.
• Assist in administering automated systems in a GMP environment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to enable business continuity.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation processes.
• Analyze data to interrogate systems and drive improvements.
• Document automation processes and maintain technical docs.
• Follow SOPs when executing system changes.

Carlow is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation Intern to join our Digital Manufacturing Operations (DMO) team. This exciting opportunity is designed to provide a structured and flexible development program, enabling you to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge, regulated manufacturing environment while contributing to impactful digital transformation initiatives. As an intern, you will play a key role in supporting digital systems, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence within our manufacturing processes. You will assist in developing, testing, and maintaining the automated and computerized systems that support the manufacturing site at Carlow. This role offers hands-on experience with automation technologies and software development practices in a dynamic work environment. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to advanced technologies and industry best practices.

What We're Looking For

Preferred Education

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following fields: Automation & Robotics, Computer Science & Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mechatronics

• Basic knowledge of Automation systems.
• Familiarity with automation tools/software and frameworks.
• Understanding of electrical fundamentals of industrial control systems.
