Job summary

Alcon is seeking an Equipment Technician for a 12-month contract in Cork to support the engineering team with maintenance and troubleshooting of automated equipment. The role involves providing first-response technical support, defining procedures for new equipment, and assisting with installation and training.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 7 qualification in a technical field, strong automation experience, and knowledge of ISO/FDA/GMP standards.

Qualifications

A minimum Level 7 qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
Strong technical ability with automation experience preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Ability to work on own initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of ISO, FDA, GMP standards.

Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot existing and new automation equipment.
Provide first response technical support to automated equipment.
Define maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for new equipment.
Assist Engineering in installation and implementation of new equipment; train wider team.
Daily reporting into Engineering on all activities and raising concerns early.
Investigate and document process issues and report findings and solutions to Engineering.
Support safety risk assessments for new equipment introduced.
Ensure continual Quality System compliance with Alcon QS requirements.
Adhere to H&S and environmental requirements for assigned work.
Order and maintain stocks of spares and components.
Carry out modifications and upgrades.
