Job summary

Embecta in Dublin seeks an Automation Engineering Leader to drive strategy, design, commissioning and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing systems. You will lead engineers and technicians, optimize throughput and maintain safety across plant operations.

The role combines high-level technical leadership with people management, working with cross-functional teams to deliver robust automation solutions that enhance productivity and reliability in a global medical device environment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in a similar automation leadership role in manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation products.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term automation strategy aligned with site targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and upskill Automation Engineers and Technicians.
  • Manage automation projects plant-wide with vendors from design to acceptance.
  • Support Lean/Six Sigma and PM techniques for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate resource allocation for daily operations and long-term deployments.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex automation failures to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor equipment performance and root cause issues.
  • Support validation, change control and safety improvements for automated systems.
