Job summary

embecta is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop, implement and optimise manufacturing automation that enhances product quality, safety and throughput at our Irish site. You will lead turnkey automation projects, oversee commissioning, validation and lifecycle management of controls and data systems, and coach technicians.

Qualifications

• Degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in automation engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience delivering automation projects from concept to implementation.
• Experience with commissioning, validation and change control.
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and optimise automation solutions for manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Lead automation activities for equipment upgrades, process improvements and capital projects.
• Develop functional specifications, design documentation, test protocols and change controls.
• Support equipment commissioning, validation and start-up activities.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for complex automation issues.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with vendors, system integrators and cross-functional teams.
• Analyse performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure automation systems comply with GMP and company standards.
• Provide coaching and support to Automation Technicians.
• Participate in Operational Excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
