Job summary

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Design Automation Engineer for our multinational medical device client in Galway. This onsite role spans an initial 12-month contract with responsibilities across troubleshooting, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing lines.

• Ability to read electrical schematics and machine documentation.
• Experience with commissioning, testing, and equipment support.

Responsibilities

• Investigate equipment downtime and assist with root cause analysis.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new or modified automation equipment.
• Provide hands-on support during hypercare or production ramp-up phases.
• Assist with software, controls, and system-level debugging.
• Support integration of electrical, mechanical, hardware, and software components.
• Contribute to equipment improvement, standardisation, and continuous improvement activities.
• Support validation, verification, and change control activities as required.
