Job summary

Elk Recruitment is seeking an Automatic Door Engineer for a client in Dublin, covering the Leinster area. This permanent, full-time role offers a salary of €35,000–€50,000 depending on experience and includes a company vehicle and ongoing training.

You will install industrial doors, perform maintenance and diagnostics, and respond to service calls to minimise downtime. The ideal candidate has proven experience with industrial/automatic doors or roller shutters, strong mechanical and electrical

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Industrial Doors/ Automatic Doors/ Roller Shutters.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Installing industrial doors, sliding and rotating doors as well as roller shutters and related equipment.
• Performing routine maintenance and inspections to ensure safety standards.
• Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Responding to service calls and emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Providing technical support and guidance to customers regarding door operation and maintenance.
• Maintaining accurate service reports, job documentation, and inventory records.

Your new role includes:

• Installing industrial doors, sliding and rotating doors as well as roller shutters and related equipment according to customer requirements.
• Performing routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety standards.
• Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of industrial doors.
• Responding promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime for clients.
• Providing technical support and guidance to customers regarding door operation and maintenance best practices.
• Maintaining accurate service reports, job documentation, and inventory records.

Experience you need:

• Proven experience with Industrial Doors/ Automatic Doors/ Roller Shutters beneficial,
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for identifying and resolving faults efficiently.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
• Capability to work independently and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
