Job summary

Revolut in Ireland is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor specializing in financial crime to join our Audit team. You will execute internal audits, assess regulatory compliance, and adapt to new subject matter as the business evolves.

You will partner with Risk and Compliance, use data to test controls, and deliver insights that strengthen controls and efficiency across the organisation. A quantitative degree and 5+ years in regulated financial services are required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in an audit-related role within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Undergraduate or master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environment including EU Money Laundering Directives and UK equivalents.
  • Proficiency in working with and interpreting data.
  • Desire to learn, grow, and have impact quickly in a expanding team.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and interpersonal communication.
  • Proficiency with modern digital technologies and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Head of FinCrime Audit to develop and execute audit programmes in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Use data to inform risk understanding, test controls, and provide insights to the business.
  • Identify risks and regulatory requirements to include in audit scope.
  • Interact with staff to understand risks, controls, and processes.
  • Communicate findings with management and develop audit reports.
  • Conduct research and required training to maintain relevance in role.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop recommendations for audit findings and process improvements.
  • Follow-up on deficiencies noted during audits.
  • Monitor audit progress and manage projects from start to finish.

About The Role

Our Audit team is critical to our business. They work closely with Risk and Compliance to create internal risk management and compliance processes, and make sure they're running efficiently.

We're looking for a motivated Internal Auditor who specialises in financial crime to support regulatory audits. You'll be executing internal audits and adapting your skills to audit new subject matter.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Partnering with our Head of FinCrime Audit to develop and execute audit programmes in accordance with internal audit policies, regulatory requirements, and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
  • Making the best use of data as part of our audit process, including to inform our understanding of risks, test controls, and provide relevant insights to the business
  • Providing input and assisting in the identification of relevant risks and regulatory requirements for incorporation as part of our audit scope
  • Interacting with staff to obtain an understanding of relevant risks, controls, and processes
  • Communicating and discussing findings with management
  • Developing audit reports which identify deficiencies and underlying root causes, and providing recommendations to mitigate/address deficiencies while adding value
  • Conducting research and completing assigned training necessary to maintain relevance
  • Collaborating with business units to develop recommendations for audit findings, business process optimisation, internal control, and compliance
  • Conducting follow-up reviews of deficiencies noted during audits
  • Monitoring audit progress (against expected timelines, scope, etc.) and managing projects from beginning to end, escalating where required in a timely manner
What You'll Need
  • 5+ years of experience in an audit related-role within a regulated financial services environment
  • An undergraduate or master's degree in a quantitative discipline
  • A good understanding of the current regulatory environment, including EU Money Laundering Directives and the UK regulatory environment (FCA, UK Money Laundering Regulations, UK Bribery Act, and JMLSG Guidance)
  • Proficiency in both working with and interpreting data
  • A desire and drive to learn, grow, and have impact quickly as part of an expanding team
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication to collaborate with diverse teams
  • High proficiency in modern digital technologies
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities
  • Impeccable attention to detail
Nice to have
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on execution
  • Proficiency with SQL, SAS, Python, RACA, and/or CIA
