Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is seeking an experienced audit professional to lead diverse client engagements across sectors in Ireland. You will act as the main client contact, coordinate international reporting, and guide audit teams through all phases while ensuring quality and deadlines.

The role requires a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA) with at least three years post-qualification experience, strong ISAs/IFRS knowledge, and proven team leadership in a busy client-facing

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA) with at least three years post-qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISAs, FRS 100–102 and IFRS.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team with accountability for results.
• Commercially minded, client focused and a clear communicator at all levels.
• Experience managing audit teams in a busy, client-facing environment.
• Exposure to international audits or multi-entity reporting is advantageous.
• Comfortable leading people through change rather than merely managing it.

Responsibilities

• Manage and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of audit clients across sizes and sectors.
• Act as the main contact for clients, building strong relationships with senior financial personnel.
• Coordinate international reporting processes between group level and component auditors.
• Lead audit teams through every phase of engagements, maintaining quality and deadlines.
• Provide technical auditing and accounting support to your team and clients.
• Report progress of engagements to senior leadership.
• Monitor financial performance of audit teams, including fee negotiation, billing and WIP.
• Coach, mentor and appraise your team.
• Help shape pitches and proposals for new business opportunities.
