Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is seeking an ambitious Audit Manager to join a leading professional services firm's Audit Department in Dublin. You will manage a varied client portfolio across construction and retail sectors, delivering high-quality audits and supporting growth.

You'll lead audit teams through all engagement phases, coordinate international reporting, and mentor staff while liaising with senior financial executives.

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA) with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards (ISAs), financial reporting frameworks (FRS 100 - FRS 102), and IFRS.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with accountability for audit team results.
  • Commercially aware with a strong client service focus and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience managing audit teams within a busy, client-focused environment.
  • Experience with international audits and multi-entity reporting is advantageous.
  • Adaptable to change and able to lead teams effectively through transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee a diverse portfolio of audit clients of varying sizes and sectors.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, proactively managing expectations and building strong relationships with senior financial personnel.
  • Coordinate international reporting processes between group-level and component auditors.
  • Lead audit teams through all phases of engagements, ensuring quality and timely completion.
  • Provide technical auditing and accounting support to both team members and clients.
  • Report directly to senior leadership on audit engagements.
  • Monitor and contribute to the financial performance of audit teams, including fee negotiation, billing, and work-in-progress management.
  • Support coaching, mentoring, and appraisal processes to foster team growth.
  • Assist in preparing pitches and proposals for new business opportunities
