Job summary

AAB is a leading professional services firm with operations across the UK, Ireland, and the USA. Based in Dublin, the firm offers audit, tax, corporate finance, payroll, people consultancy, and wealth management services to mid-market clients.

We are seeking an Audit Manager to lead a major audit portfolio, oversee international group engagements, and mentor junior staff while ensuring quality and adherence to budgets and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA) or equivalent with at least 2 years PQE.
  • Caseware experience for auditing and accounts prep.
  • Experience with FRS102 and IFRS financial statements.
  • Experience in digital asset sector beneficial but not required.
  • Interest in technology to make audits more efficient beneficial.
  • Experience managing and developing a client portfolio.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a very large audit client with multiple audits across international groups.
  • Work with relationship leads to provide updates.
  • Manage smaller audit engagements when required.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure assignments stay within budgets.
  • Review work prepared by staff and ensure quality control.
  • Ensure professional standards are met and work presented to partners.
  • Identify opportunities for clients and firm growth.

ROLE PURPOSE

Purpose of the role/key responsibilities:

  • Primary role is to manage a very large audit client with multiple audits across several international groups.
  • Working closely with the RIs on these engagements to provide updates.
  • Managing a few smaller audit engagements when required.
  • Taking responsibility for the effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed budgets
  • Reviewing of work prepared by other members of staff
  • Ensuring that the firm's quality control procedures are adhered to
  • Ensuring the firm's professional standards are met
  • Ensuring that work is presented to the partner in a complete and finalised format
  • Providing an efficient and pro-active service to clients and ensure that the clients' needs are fully met
  • Identifying technical issues as well as selling opportunities to Partners of the firm
  • Developing work from existing clients by working closely with Partners and staff of the firm
  • Attending networking events, etc. and developing professional relationships with clients, others within the firm, and with other local professional firms and potential clients.
  • Paying attention to self-development and continuing professional education
  • Consulting with colleagues and Partners on technical and risk matters.
  • To support and work as a team player, whilst being able to work on own initiative
  • To assist in the provision of training to staff
  • To counsel, appraise, mentor, develop and motivate staff
Experience & qualifications

Experience and skill set required for the role:

  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA) or equivalent experience with at least 2 years' PQE.
  • Caseware experience in respect of auditing and accounts preparation is required.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements under FRS102 and IFRS is required.
  • Experience in auditing clients operating in digital asset sector beneficial but not required.
  • Experience or interest in technology and how technology can be used to make audits more efficient is beneficial.
  • Experience of managing and developing a client portfolio
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Good experience of business development
WHAT AAB OFFER

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this role is €65,000 - €80,000. Offers are determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal alignment within the team.
