Job summary

Jacobs, a global engineering and consultancy firm, is seeking an experienced ecology leader to shape the Irish ecology team. You will drive strategic direction, lead client relationships, and mentor a high-performing team across diverse projects.

You will oversee ecological assessments and monitoring, collaborate with water, energy and environment experts, and play a key role in winning major projects while traveling across the UK and Ireland as needed.

Qualifications

• Chartered status (or willingness to achieve) is expected.
• Strong leadership with ability to mentor and grow teams.
• Excellent client engagement and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the Ireland ecology team.
• Act as trusted advisor for clients, regulators and stakeholders.
• Lead high-value client relationships and represent Jacobs externally.
• Foster team growth, resilience and performance through mentoring and empathetic leadership.
• Oversee EIA, Appropriate Assessment and biodiversity strategies.
• Design and lead ecological monitoring programmes and survey strategies.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver innovative project solutions.
• Identify, bid for and win new work.
• Raise the team's profile across the wider business.
