Job summary

Waystone, a leading provider of specialist services for the asset management industry, is seeking an AML Associate on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract in Ireland. You will conduct complex AML reviews, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain AML systems and support junior associates under AML leadership.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of AML, compliance, or related field experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently liaise with AML Manager and stakeholders to complete client reviews.
• Carry out AML reviews, sanctions screenings and independent client research.
• Perform anti-money laundering checks in line with AML policies and procedures.
• Prepare the AML pack for sign-off by AML COE.
• Review AML regulations and discuss them with colleagues.
• Monitor and update task tracking to meet deadlines.
• Maintain AML checklists and procedures.
• Maintain AML – Fenergo system.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of AML regulations and promote process improvements.
• Mentor junior associates when possible.

The AML Associate plays a key role in delivering outsourced AML and Counter‑Terrorist Financing (CTF) services. The position is responsible for conducting complex AML reviews, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, maintaining AML systems, and supporting the development of junior associates. The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, independent judgment, and close collaboration with AML leadership to ensure high‑quality client reviews.

What you will be doing:

• Independently liaise in a timely and professional manner with the AML Manager and various business stakeholders to complete the client review process
• Carry out AML reviews, financial sanction screenings and independent research on Waystone clients globally
• Perform anti‑money laundering checks in line with AML policies and procedures
• Prepare the “AML” pack for sign off by AML COE
• Review, understand and have the ability to discuss anti‑money laundering regulations with colleagues
• Monitor and update task tracking schedule to ensure all assigned duties are completed within assigned deadlines
• Maintain checklists/procedures in relation to the AML process
• Maintain and update AML – Fenergo system
• Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of AML regulation and best practice and use this knowledge to promote enhancements to Waystone’s AML processes and procedures
• Assist colleagues when capacity permits and notify AML Manager with availability
• Follow current Waystone policies and procedures as set out in the Employee Handbook
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior associates, fostering a culture of compliance and professional development

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
• Experience: 2‑3 years of experience in AML, compliance, or a related field.
• Knowledge: In‑depth understanding of AML/CTF regulations, risk management, and financial crime.
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in AML software tools and MS Office.
• Certifications: CAMS (Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist) or similar certification is highly preferred.
