Job summary

O’Neill & Brennan in Ireland seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects. You will work with the Project Manager, assisting with execution, HSEQS, programme, quality, procurement, stakeholder management and project close-out.

Ideal candidates will be progressing Chartered status with CIOB/CPEng/MICE or equivalent, with a construction/engineering background and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

  • Chartered status with CIOB/CPEng/MICE or equivalent is preferred.
  • Background in construction or engineering is essential.
  • CSCS for Managers and SMSTS certifications are required.
  • DM/PSCS Awareness is expected.
  • BBS and Root Cause Analysis training is advantageous.
  • Lifting Operations basic awareness is desirable.
  • BIM Fundamentals knowledge is expected.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities are required.
  • A diploma or degree in construction, engineering or related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in the delivery of design and construction projects.
  • Manage project reporting, team meetings, and package management.
  • Assist with Project Execution Plans, programme, risk, and performance management.
  • Support HSEQS management and promote Zero Defect and Zero Snag standards.
  • Review and approve RAMS with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure activities are effectively coordinated.
  • Coordinate Package Owners, Quality Plans, ITPs, and project deliverables.
  • Raise and manage NCRs where works do not meet required standards.
  • Assist with procurement and the management of trade contractors.
  • Support project close-out and handover in line with the contract programme.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and project teams.

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a proactive and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and wider project team, supporting project execution, HSEQS, programme, quality, procurement, stakeholder management, and project close-out.
