The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is recruiting a Project Manager on a three-year fixed-term contract to join its Corporate Services Division. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in supporting the delivery of strategic projects and transformation initiatives across the Authority.

Working closely with senior management, business leads and external partners, the successful candidate will help translate strategic priorities into successful outcomes through effective planning, governance and delivery. The role requires a strong focus on project management, stakeholder engagement and organisational change, with responsibility for establishing effective project governance arrangements, supporting informed decision-making, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring projects are delivered successfully and achieve their intended benefits.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to initiatives that will strengthen the Authority's future capability, including programmes involving digital transformation, organisational development, workplace change, service improvement and other strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

The following above list is not exhaustive and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the Authority.

  • Lead and support the delivery of significant organisational projects and transformation initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain effective project governance, planning, reporting and risk management arrangements.
  • Provide strategic leadership for organisational change initiatives, ensuring that change impacts, stakeholder engagement, communications, governance arrangements, capability development, and benefits realisation activities are planned and managed effectively to achieve successful adoption and sustainable outcomes.
  • Support senior decision-making through the provision of high-quality project information, analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure a strong focus on outcomes, benefits realisation and continuous improvement.
  • Introduce and embed project management methodology and best practice and contribute to strengthening organisational project delivery capability.

In addition to demonstrating that you possess the required competencies, the ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Hold a minimum NFQ Level 8 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Have a minimum of five years’ relevant experience leading and delivering complex projects or programmes involving multiple stakeholders and significant organisational impact.
  • Have a proven track record of establishing effective project governance arrangements, including planning, reporting, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Have experience driving organisational change and supporting the successful implementation of new systems, processes or ways of working.
  • Demonstrate the competencies required for the role as set out in Appendix 4 of the Candidate Booklet.

In addition to the above essential requirements, it would be a decided advantage for candidates to have one or more of the following:

  • A recognised qualification or certification in project management (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, Agile or equivalent).
  • Experience leading digital transformation, technology-enabled change or enterprise system implementation projects.
  • Experience working with senior management teams, governance structures and external delivery partners.
  • Experience supporting organisational transformation, business improvement or benefits realisation initiatives.

Further details can be found in the Candidate Booklet.
