Job summary

Glengara Park Nursing Home, part of Glengara Park Beechfield Care Group, is recruiting an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead resident care and the nursing team in Glenageary, Co Dublin.

The post holder will provide professional leadership, ensure HIQA compliance, mentor staff, and support service planning, with a focus on safety, quality of care and staff development. NMBI registered nurses with management experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• NMBI registered nurse with current registration.
• Nursing management experience in elder care.
• Post-registration management qualification in health or related field.
• Thorough knowledge of HIQA standards and governance.
• Proven track record in management and leadership.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the company.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership, motivation and supervision to ensure the high standards of care.
• Provide effective clinical and professional leadership that demonstrates the values and behaviours aligned to the Beechfield Care Group ethos.
• Provide line management and develop the clinical nursing teams, care teams and individuals as required.
• Support the delivery of care through patient and staff engagement, clinical supervision and holding self and others to account.
• Develop strategies to guide and coach teams in leadership skills and succession planning.
• Deputise for the Director of Nursing when required.
• Assist in determining service needs and plans in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Management.
• Ensure resources are used effectively and appropriately.
• Any other duties as required.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Director of Nursing will provide professional and managerial leadership at Glengara Park Nursing home. Co. Dublin. The post holder will act as a professional visible role model.

• Provide professional leadership, motivation and supervision to ensure the high standards of care.


• Provide effective clinical and professional leadership that demonstrates the values and behaviours aligned to Beechfield Care Group ethos and act as a role model for all staff within the nursing home.


• Provide line management and develop the clinical nursing teams, care teams and individuals as required within the Care Group.


• Support the delivery of care through patient and staff engagement, clinical supervision and holding self and others to account for the delivery of care in the nursing home.


• Develop innovative strategies to guide and coach Nursing/teams in developing and strengthening leadership skills in order to meet the responsibilities of their role and provide succession planning.


• Deputise for the Director of Nursing when required.


• Assist and act as a catalyst in determining service needs and plans in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Management.


• Ensure that resources are used effectively and appropriately.


• Any other duties as required.

Qualifications And Experience

• NMBI Registered Nurse


• Nursing management experience in the elder care setting


• Post registration Management qualification in health or a related field.


• Thorough knowledge of HIQA standards, regulations and governance in a Nursing Home setting


• Proven track record in management


• Excellent Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills
