Job summary

Alternative Heat Ltd in Dundalk is seeking an Assembly Operative to support our fabrication and assembly team, assembling metal framework components and large piping systems on the shop floor.

You will carry out cutting, wrapping, packaging, de-snagging, paint touch-ups, and assist mechanical pipe fitters, coordinating materials and providing general shopfloor support.

Hours are Monday to Thursday 7am-5pm and Friday 7am-4pm; salary is competitive depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal framework components and large piping systems.
• Carry out general operational duties such as cutting, wrapping and packaging.
• Perform quality de-snagging and paint touch-ups where required.
• Provide support to mechanical pipe fitters and leads.
• Assist with material coordination and preparation.
• Undertake general shopfloor support activities as needed.

The Fabrication & Assembly department is responsible for the off-site manufacturing of bespoke mechanical and electrical systems, including prefabricated plant rooms, skids, and modular assemblies. Operating from our dedicated assembly facility, the team ensures high-quality workmanship, precision, and compliance with project specifications. By delivering preassembled solutions, the department helps reduce installation time, improve safety on-site, and maintain consistent quality — all while supporting efficient project delivery and innovation in modular construction.
