Job summary

RECRUITERS is seeking an ambitious retail leader to step into a Trainee Area Manager role covering Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford. You will oversee a district of stores, develop Store Managers, and drive commercial success across your area.

With a starting salary of €78,000 and rising to €89,500, then up to €121,000 after 3 years, this role offers a company car, pension, private medical insurance, and a Leadership Academy to fast-track your career.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2.1 degree in any discipline or at least 3 years' management experience.
• Previous management experience in fast-paced retail or customer-facing environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.
• Excellent communication, organisational, planning and analytical skills.
• Commercial mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
• Flexible, proactive and highly organised approach to work.
• Previous multi-site or Area Manager experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Passion for building a long-term career within retail.

Responsibilities

• Manage a district of retail stores with direct responsibility for multiple Store Managers.
• Coach, develop and support Store Managers to achieve operational and commercial excellence.
• Create a positive, motivated and high-performing team culture across your district.
• Analyse store performance, stock movements and key business metrics to drive improvements.
• Develop and implement annual business plans and KPI targets.
• Plan staffing structures and support workforce planning across your stores.
• Conduct regular district visits, operational reviews and cash management checks.
• Support new store openings, refurbishments and strategic business projects.
• Work closely with senior leadership to implement company strategy and deliver business objectives.
