Job summary

Pierse Motors in Tipperary Town is seeking an apprentice technician. The role is aimed at those wishing to become an apprentice, with consideration for partially progressed apprentices. Training will cover vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engines to air conditioning and security features.

The successful candidate will service and repair vehicles, gain hands-on experience, and build skills in diagnostics and customer communication while working closely with the service team.

Qualifications

• Evidence of practical skills in vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own.
• Leaving Certificate is required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles such as cars and vans.
• Advise customers or the service department about required repairs and produce time estimates.
• Maintain repair and service records.
• Assist in on-the-job training and learn vehicle electronics and diagnostics.

Pierse Motors was founded over forty five years ago and due to continued growth has now a vacancy for an apprentice technician. This role will be for a those wishing to become an apprentice but wewill alsoconsider applicants who are partlythroughtheir apprenticeship. This role isBASEDin Tipperary Town, Co Tipperary.

Apprentice technician will service and repair vehicles such as cars and vans. Apprentice technician will be trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features.

The duties of an apprentice technician, after a period of on & off the job training may include:

• Servicing vehicles - carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers' guidelines
• Repair and replacing faulty parts and components
• Advise customers or the service department about required repairsProducing time estimates
• Maintaining repair and service records

Skills & Education Required

To become an apprentice technician you will need to demonstrate:

• Excellent practical skills
• The ability to work quickly but also pay attention to detail
• The ability to work well in a team and on your own
• Leaving Certificate.

Strong writing skills, as there will be an element of report writing for qualified technicians.Enjoy & be comfortable using information technology system.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, thorough and have a passion for cars.
