Job summary

Suir Engineering, a leading Irish engineering company, invites applications for an Electrical Apprenticeship. You will learn by doing hands-on installation, testing and maintenance of electrical systems on live projects across Ireland and Europe.

We offer a structured induction, on-site training, progression to higher apprenticeships, and international experience on projects in Sweden, Denmark or Germany. A strong safety ethic and team spirit are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum O5 in Leaving Certificate Maths.
• Up-to-date Safe Pass and Manual Handling Training Certifications.
• Interest in Electrical systems.
• Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude.
• Good work ethic and solutions focused.
• Appreciate the importance of adherence to all safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

What you will be doing?

Rates of Pay

• 1st Year €9.47
• 2nd Year €12.18
• 3rd Year €17.59
• 4th Year €21.65

Lodge €181.68 if applicable to the project you are working on.

Suir Engineering Apprentice Induction

Prior to an Apprentice starting on site with Suir Engineering you are required to complete a 4 day induction in our Training Centre in City West, Co. Dublin.
