Job summary

Suir Engineering offers an apprentice opportunity in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland, focusing on learning electrical craft skills on site. You will gain hands-on experience installing and testing electrical systems, while building practical knowledge in safety and maintenance.

Training includes Safe Pass, city-specific induction, and progression toward a craftsman role within a growing international engineering business. There are options for overtime and international project exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum O5 in Leaving Certificate Maths required.
• Up-to-date Safe Pass and Manual Handling Training Certifications.
• Interest in Electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components to locate causes and implement fixes.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect systems to identify hazards, defects and required repairs for safety compliance.
• Advise management on potential hazards and safety improvements.
• Test circuits and systems using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure safety and compatibility.

What you will be doing?

You will be learning and developing new and practical craft-related skills, knowledge, and competence by:

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.


• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.


• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.


• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes


• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.


• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Rates of Pay

Lodge €181.68 if applicable to the project you are working on.

Suir Engineering Apprentice Induction

Prior to an Apprentice starting on site with Suir Engineering you are required to complete a 4 day induction in our Training Centre in City West, Co. Dublin.
