Job summary

Accenture Ireland is seeking an Applied Scientist to join the Labs’ AI R&D Team, working on core AI models that span domains. You will translate state-of-the-art techniques into practical, scalable solutions across real datasets, products, and client environments.

This role blends deep research with hands-on development, owning problem formulation, experimentation, validation, deployment, and measurable outcomes, in collaboration with researchers, engineers, and product stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science / AI with 1–2 years industry exp.
• Strong ML foundation including supervised learning, embeddings, evaluation metrics.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication for presentations.
• Experience designing controlled experiments and interpreting results with metrics.
• Ability to collaborate with researchers, engineers and product stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Python with PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize the latest research in AI and NLP for practical use.
• Adapt foundation models to domains using fine-tuning, continued pre-training, distillation, or LoRA.
• Design and build agentic LLM systems that integrate external tools and data sources.
• Collaborate with Senior Researchers to rapidly prototype and test concepts.
• Disseminate research findings through papers and presentations for academic and business audiences.
• Craft compelling narratives and demonstrations translating research to business value.
