Job summary
Citco IT is seeking a skilled Developer to assume technical ownership of major banking products and modules. You will design architecture, mentor developers, and coordinate with analysis, support, QA, IT security and enterprise architecture to deliver from analysis through production and support.
The role requires leadership on complex, long-duration tasks, strong Java/Spring and React skills, and a proactive approach to apply AI-assisted coding tools and best practices across teams.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Developer to work within a very exciting and challenging role on a new strategic financial application. The successful candidate will be working with a specialized technical teams serving a wide range of buines groups.
We are seeking a Technical Specialist to take technical ownership of significant products and modules within our Banking platform. You will define technical direction and architecture, mentor developers, and liaise with Business Analysis, Application Support, QA, IT Security, and enterprise architecture to ensure delivery from analysis through production and support.
- Technical ownership of critical banking product(s) and module(s)
- Design and develop new functionality across React frontends, Java/Spring backends, relational databases, and REST API integrations
- Maintain systems documentation and knowledge base
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code reviews
- Define architecture requirements considering throughput, latency, and reliability
- Drive CI/CD practices for cloud and on-premise deployments
- Champion clean code principles, integrated testing practices, and effective use of AI-assisted coding tools
- 7+ years hands-on enterprise SDLC experience
- 5+ years in financial services; 3+ years in banking
- Strong proficiency in Java (Spring, Maven) and React
- Solid experience with relational databases and REST API integration
- Advanced OOP, design patterns, Git branching, build management, and debugging skills
- Commitment to clean code, refactoring, and maintainable software design
- Experience writing and maintaining integrated tests (unit, integration, API)
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Amazon Q, GitHub Copilot) and ability to leverage them effectively
- Strong communication across technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to lead technical teams on complex, long-duration tasks
- Strong solution design mindset, marrying best practices with best of technologies
- Innovative mindset with strong understanding and interest evolving technologies
- Strong AI understanding and ability to apply it effectively
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's preferred
- AWS experience
- Application server deployments (JBoss/WildFly)
- Messaging systems (e.g., IBM MQ)
- CI/CD pipeline tooling for cloud and on-premise
