Job summary

The Citco Group Limited seeks an IT Development Manager for Private Equity Technology in Dublin. You will combine hands-on software engineering leadership with strategic delivery of enterprise-grade solutions across fund accounting, reporting, data integration and cloud services.

Leading architecture, design reviews and production support, you will mentor distributed teams, drive modern practices (CI/CD, automated testing) and partner with business stakeholders to translate complex requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Experience leading software engineering teams, including distributed teams across multiple products.
• Proven ability to estimate size/complexity and deliver complex software on time.
• Hands-on with architecture, design, development, code review, troubleshooting and production support.

Responsibilities

Private Equity IT develops and supports strategic applications across fund accounting, reporting, workflow automation, data integration, cloud services and financial calculations. Our teams work across multiple products and projects, providing broad business and technical exposure while delivering the reliability, scalability and security expected of enterprise financial systems.

We are looking for a senior software engineering leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills. This is a highly hands‑on role where you will actively contribute to architecture, software development, technical design and production support while guiding engineering teams delivering strategic Private Equity solutions.

The position is based in our development center in Dublin and may require some international travel to other CITCO locations.

About You

You are an experienced software engineering leader who combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong people leadership and sound judgement to lead the delivery of complex solutions.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Senior Developer, Team Lead or similar technical leadership role.
  • Remains hands‑on across architecture, design, development, code review, troubleshooting and production support, leading by example through direct participation in delivery.
  • Mentors and coaches developers through active collaboration and technical leadership.
  • Drives engineering excellence through modern development practices, automated testing, CI/CD and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Demonstrable experience effectively utilizing AI‑assisted development tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, testing and documentation.
  • Experience integrating LLM and agentic AI capabilities into proof‑of‑concept, MVP or production solutions where they provide measurable business value.
  • Ability to apply sound engineering judgement when reviewing, validating and deploying AI‑generated outputs.
  • Appreciation of the security, privacy, governance and compliance considerations associated with enterprise AI adoption.
• Demonstrable experience of the following:
  • Providing technical leadership and engineering direction to geographically distributed teams across multiple products and technologies while remaining actively involved in delivery
  • Accurately estimating size/complexity of software development projects
  • Delivering complex software projects on time, within budget and agreed scope with low production defect rates.
• Strong technical understanding of the following:
  • Event‑driven architecture and asynchronous integration patterns
  • Web services, REST/GraphQL, with either Node.js or Python
  • React‑based Front End development
  • Serverless architecture, preferably on AWS
  • Data security and privacy best practices, data governance and compliance requirements
• Outstanding troubleshooting skills and adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively throughout the organization at all levels.
• Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, have strong organizational skills and effective delegation of tasks to team members
• Demonstrates competence in key areas of management and leadership expertise including: relationship and conflict management, communication, quality management, risk management, and the achievement of targets
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
• The following skills are a plus :
  • Working knowledge of accounting and reporting principles in the Private Equity area
  • Working knowledge of performance fee, management fee, carry and equivalent calculations
  • Ability to effectively convey information of a highly technical nature to non-technical audiences
