Job summary

AstraZeneca plc in Ireland is seeking an analytical scientist to provide technical and analytical support to the Analytical NPI team, including method transfer and validation execution, and instrumentation troubleshooting. The role requires following SOPs, leading method troubleshooting, and contributing to continuous improvement with strict attention to detail and regulatory compliance.

Position Summary

The individual in this position will provide technical and analytical support to the Analytical NPI team including method transfer and validation execution, instrumentation and methodology troubleshooting and the introduction of new technology. The position requires the ability to understand and follow written SOPs, to lead troubleshooting of new methods and pay close attention to detail.

Qualifications and key competencies

• Good technical knowledge in the area of Biochemistry or Chemistry.
• Good experience in investigation methodology and method troubleshooting
• Ability to follow written procedures with close attention to detail
• Good report writing and technical writing skills
• Ability to use AI tools to support technical writing (risk assessments, change controls, deviations) while understanding compliance boundaries
• Ability to function with minimal supervision for routine job duties

Education

BSc in Chemistry or a biological science, 2-3 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
