Job summary

A1 is seeking an ML Platform Engineer to build the infrastructure powering our AI capabilities. You will design and operate systems for training, evaluation, deployment, inference, observability, and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with AI engineers, researchers, and product engineers to produce reliable, scalable and cost-efficient production systems. Focus areas include high-throughput model serving, data pipelines, and platform tooling to accelerate experimentation and release.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and production-ready code.
• Experience building ML infrastructure and production ML systems.
• Experience with model deployment, inference, and data pipelines.
• Understanding of distributed systems and reliability.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable production-grade code.
• Comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Bias toward ownership, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate ML infrastructure and platforms powering A1’s AI products.
• Design systems for model training, evaluation, deployment, inference, and experimentation.
• Build and optimise model serving and inference infra for high-throughput, low-latency workloads.
• Improve reliability, scalability, latency, and cost efficiency of AI systems.
• Develop reliable pipelines for data prep, training, evaluation, model release, and improvement.
• Create tooling enabling AI engineers to experiment, evaluate, and ship models quickly.
• Develop evaluation/benchmarking infra to measure model quality and regressions.
• Build production observability, monitoring, tracing, and alerting for AI workloads.
