Job summary

VIOTAS seeks a Senior R&D Programme Manager to build and lead the programme management capability within VIOTAS Innovation. You will manage a prioritised, evidence-led portfolio spanning technology, product, market, research and strategic initiatives.

This senior role combines disciplined programme leadership with commercial judgement, stakeholder influence and practical AI/data use to improve delivery visibility, guide investment decisions and engage funding bodies.

Qualifications

Significant experience leading complex programmes or portfolios in technology, energy, engineering, or regulated environments.
Strong track record in executive reporting and evidence-based prioritisation.
Experience with business cases, programme finances, benefits, risks, dependencies and governance.
Practical experience applying AI, automation or advanced analytics to delivery.
Experience engaging with funding bodies and coordinating funding applications or funded programmes.

Responsibilities

Programme manage an integrated Innovation portfolio across major programmes, products, experiments and funded initiatives.
Coordinate prioritisation, capacity planning, dependency management and benefits tracking.
Introduce AI-assisted tracking, reporting, risk detection and portfolio optimisation with governance.
Provide concise, decision-ready reporting to Senior Leadership and the Board.
Lead or assure cross-functional programmes and recover when delivery is off track.
Develop robust business cases and work with Finance to assess value, cost, risk and strategic option value.
