Job description

Ingenium is a management consultancy working with organisations across Ireland and internationally to solve complex business and people challenges across strategy, transformation, people and digital innovation.

AI is becoming an increasingly important part of our client work, and we're looking for an AI Consultant, Strategy & Adoption to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

You’ll help organisations identify where AI can create real value and turn that opportunity into a practical, governed and achievable plan.

Working directly with clients, you'll contribute across AI discovery, strategy, governance and adoption, with exposure to senior stakeholders and complex business challenges across multiple sectors.

This is a consulting role, not a technical one. You'll combine business insight, commercial thinking, practical AI literacy and an understanding of people and organisational change to help clients make better decisions about AI and successfully embed new ways of working.

What You'll Do
  • AI Discovery & Prioritisation: Map client processes and challenges, identify AI opportunities and prioritise them based on business value, feasibility and organisational readiness.
  • Strategy & Roadmapping: Translate business priorities into clear, actionable AI roadmaps, working with our AI Engineer to distinguish what is desirable from what is technically feasible.
  • Business Cases & Measurement: Establish operational baselines, define what success looks like and build the commercial case for AI investment before initiatives progress.
  • AI Policy & Governance: Develop practical AI policies, acceptable use frameworks and responsible AI guardrails proportionate to the client's sector, risk and regulatory exposure.
  • AI PMO: Help clients structure and manage portfolios of AI initiatives through governance forums, prioritisation, stage gates, risk management and benefits tracking.
  • Organisational Readiness & Adoption: Assess the impact of AI on people, roles, processes and ways of working, and develop practical stakeholder, communication and adoption approaches that support sustained use.
  • Client Delivery: Facilitate workshops that lead to decisions, conduct stakeholder interviews, develop recommendations and present clearly to client teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Judgement: Recognise when AI is genuinely the right solution to a business problem, and have the confidence to say when it isn't.
What We're Looking For

You’ll have 4+ years' experience in consulting, strategy, transformation, change or a related field, with strong client facing delivery experience.

You'll bring:
  • Strong consulting fundamentals, with the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex business problems and take ownership of defined client workstreams.
  • Commercial fluency, with an understanding of baselines, business cases, operational metrics and how to assess whether an opportunity will create genuine value.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the confidence to run workshops, engage senior stakeholders and turn discussion into clear decisions and actions.
  • Practical AI literacy, including an understanding of LLMs, agents, retrieval, permission models and common limitations. You don't need to be an engineer, but you should be able to work credibly with technical specialists and challenge assumptions.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to turn information and insight into clear, practical recommendations.
  • An understanding of organisational change and how AI can affect people, processes, roles and ways of working.
  • Sound judgement and the confidence to challenge a client or recommendation when AI is not the right answer.

Experience in AI, digital transformation or technology enabled change would be an advantage. Familiarity with the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, regulated sectors or grant and R&D environments would also be beneficial.

What You'll Get
  • Discretionary performance bonus
  • Company pension
  • 25 days' annual leave
  • Hybrid working
  • Professional development opportunities to deepen your AI and consulting expertise
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders across a diverse range of clients and sectors
  • Career progression as our AI consulting offering grows
  • The opportunity to contribute to and help shape a growing area of Ingenium

You’ll be joining Ingenium at an exciting point in the development of our AI offering, with the opportunity to work on real client challenges and help organisations determine not just what they can do with AI, but what they should do and how to make it work.

If you're commercially minded, curious about AI and enjoy solving complex business problems, we'd love to hear from you.
