Qualifications

• Minimum of a third-level degree in Maths, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or related field.
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex AI/ML or generative AI solutions with leadership capacity.
• Strong stakeholder management, translating business challenges into practical AI use cases.
• Experience with enterprise AI technologies such as cloud platforms and OpenAI services.
• Knowledge of responsible AI, governance, privacy, security, and fairness considerations.

Responsibilities

• Scoping, designing, and leading scalable AI/ML/generative AI solutions using open-source, proprietary, and cloud-native tech.
• Translate business challenges into AI use cases, architectures, roadmaps, and measurable value cases.
• Design AI solution patterns (assistants, chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation, document intelligence).
• Develop technical specifications and architecture designs for AI apps, pipelines, and deployments.
• Ensure security, privacy, governance, monitoring, and evaluation within AI architectures.
• Lead and mentor data scientists, AI engineers, ML engineers, software engineers, and analysts.
• Collaborate across Deloitte's Technology and Transformation areas to align AI with data platforms and business workflows.
• Manage client engagements, build trusted relationships, and identify growth opportunities.
• Coach junior team members and align tasks with development objectives.

We offer a competitive starting salary of €91,500.00 for this role, with salary adjustments reflecting your experience level and expertise.

Key skills and prior experience

• A minimum of a third-level degree in Maths, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, or generative AI solutions, with the ability to motivate and guide teams to achieve outstanding results
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders, translating business challenges into practical AI use cases, and providing expert advice based on industry best practices
• Commercial experience in AI solution architecture, with familiarity in enterprise-grade AI technologies such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI Service, Databricks Mosaic AI, MLflow, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, Snowflake Cortex, or equivalent platforms
• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning solution patterns, including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, intelligent assistants, chatbots, recommendation engines, agentic workflows, MLOps, and model deployment
• Practical knowledge of responsible AI, including model governance, evaluation, explainability, privacy, security, bias and fairness considerations, and regulatory expectations
• Working knowledge of data architecture principles, including how trusted data platforms, data products, APIs, and governance controls support successful AI delivery

What type of work will I be doing

• Scoping, designing, and leading the implementation of scalable AI, machine learning, and generative AI solutions using open source, proprietary, and cloud-native technologies
• Translating business challenges into practical AI use cases, target architectures, delivery roadmaps, and measurable value cases
• Designing AI solution patterns such as assistants, chatbots, retrieval-augmented generation, document intelligence, prediction services, recommendation engines, optimisation models, and agentic workflows
• Developing technical specifications and architecture designs for AI applications, model pipelines, orchestration layers, knowledge bases, integration patterns, and deployment environments aligned with enterprise standards
• Ensuring security, privacy, responsible AI, model governance, monitoring, and evaluation are embedded within all AI architectural designs
• Leading and mentoring data scientists, AI engineers, ML engineers, software engineers, and analysts to deliver solutions aligned with target architectures
• Collaborating across Deloitte's Technology and Transformation business areas to integrate AI capabilities with broader organisational goals, data platforms, cloud services, and business workflows
• Managing client engagements across various industries, building trusted relationships and identifying growth opportunities
• Coaching junior team members, aligning their responsibilities with their professional development objectives
